Antique Book for old Photographs. One page is inscribed "Very Sincerely, Sept 28th 1863, Leeds" and a name which is hard to decipher. I wonder if "Leeds" is in England.
The book has a fancy cover with chased metal fittings. The book measures about 6" by 4-3/4" and about 2-1/4" thick at the spine end.
The cover has wear to the edges and especially at the spine area. One of the metal clasps that close on the page ends is missing and the metal strip is loose at that point on the cover back. The inside back cover is black with moisture damage and there is considerable soiling and wear to the inside pages. There are no photographs. There is gilt on the page ends.
