Description

. The Shepherd Psalm
by Frederick B Meyer

. The Shepherd Psalm was written by Rev F B Meyer and published by H M Caldwell out of New York. A date is penciled in the back of May 5, 1934.

. Beautiful embossing on the front and spine of small violet flowers and green art deco stalks and fronds.

. The portrait of Frederick Brotherton Meyer and attached title page have come loose and are just laid in. There is a book plate in the front from the original owner. Light shelf wear.

. Frederick Brotherton Meyer (1847-1929) was an English Baptist clergyman. F.B. Meyer was born in London and educated at Brighton College. Between 1870 and 1895 he held several successful pastorates. Between the years 1872 and 1874 he met D.L. Moody and introduced him to the British churches. During much of Meyer's ministry he engaged in social work and temperance work.

. He headed a movement to close saloons, was the force in closing nearly 500 immoral houses, and labored for the reclamation of released prisoners. In 1904 to 1905 he served as president of the National Federation of Free Churches, and thereafter was evangelist for that organization, conducting missions in South Africa and the Far East. For many years he was closely associated with the Keswick Conferences. He died in his 82nd year.

. Small hard cover book without dust jacket. No writing or stamps. Pages clean and tight except where noted. Non smoking storage. Measures approximately 4 x 6 x .75. 166 numbered pages.

. Wonderful, vintage find from a local Bergen County, New Jersey estate. One of many books that were willed to a local library for resale.

. S&H within the USA at Media Rate = $2.95 plus insurance, if desired.

. Shipments outside the USA to be priced separately - contact me for the S&H rates prior to submitting payment.

. Glad to combine wins for savings on S&H.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me through the "Ask Seller a Question" form.

I'd like all my buyers to be comfortable with me as a seller here.

So, if you have a moment, please view my about me page and learn a little about me and how I conduct my business.

Should you have any problems with your item(s) or with receiving them, please contact me so that we may work out any problems together.

It is always our goal to ship promptly upon receiving payment. We will notify you when your payment is received and then ship as quickly as possible there after. Currently, we are going to the Post Office 4 days a week.

Where possible, we will quote the fixed S&H rates in each auction. This is easy for small objects and for items mailed at Media Rate. For larger items where the S&H will vary according to distance and weight, we will provide the S&H once the auction closes. The final S&H cost usually includes a small amount above the actual postage.

Insurance if desired is additional - I cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in the mail although I will gladly assist you with your dealings with the U.S. Post Office. The amount varies according to the insured value of the package.

Shipping and handling for buyers outside the U.S. is obviously more and will be quoted on an auction by auction basis, so please e-mail me with your country and I'll get back to you with a quote for S&H.
