Don't pass by this opportunity to pick up some special memorabilia from one of the biggest science fiction TV franchises in history!! This auction will be a true Trekker's delight as not only do you get the DC Comics official comic book adaptation of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, featuring the steadfast favorites of the original series, but also an issue from the regular comic series with an original story involving Kirk, Spock, and company. Next Generation fans won't be left out either, as a complete six issue mini-series with an original storyline take the crew of Enterprise D to a bold new frontier. The movie adaptation was a one shot deal published by DC in 1989 and adapted by Peter David along with the art talents of James Fry, Arne Starr, Bob Pinaha, and Tom McCraw. It is in NM condition with a $2.00 original cover price. The next comic features a bit of interesting nostalgia as it picks up immediately after Star Trek III: The Search for Spock left off, but before Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home was in production, so offers an original story that can be considered an "alternative universe." The issue comes from the Star Trek original series by DC and has a cover date of Dec. 1984 with a 75 cent retail price - it's issue #9 in the series. It features the first chapter of the New Frontiers stories, titled ... Promises to Keep, and was written by Mike Barr with Tom Sutton, Ricardo Villagran, John Costanza, and Michele Wolfman collaborating on the artwork. The issue is in VF condition, only showing slight aging and minor creases in the spine. The Next Generation limited series was published starting around winter of ‘87/'88 (Issue #1's cover date is Feb. 1988 with a $1.50 retail price - the cover was painted by Sienkiewicz). It takes the Enterprise crew from the first season of the TV series on an original adventure written by Michael Carlin with the talents of Pablo Marcos, Carlos Garzon, Arne Starr, Bob Pinaha, and Carl Gafford suppling the images. The remaining issues in the series sported a $1.00 cover price; all issues of the series are in NM condition, showing only slight wear and age if any at all. Each comic will also come in a protective mylar bag.
The 2000 Overstreet price guide lists the Star Trek V adaptation with a value of $2.50; issue #9 at $5.00; issue #1 of the Next Gen series at $5.00, and the remaining five issues at $3.00 each.
