Battlestar Galactica is back and apparently better than ever, depending on who you talk to. Fans of the original exciting, if somewhat campy, series can take some comfort however, as in this auction, I have reprints of six issues of the Marvel comics series that debuted in 1979 that was based on the TV run. All issues are in F/VF condition, showing some slight wear and age - bindings are nice and tight and all pages and covers intact, with the exception of #6 which has a small piece of the front cover missing at the bottom near the spine with a tear that runs up the spine by the back about two inches. Star Trek fans might also find interest in this auction as that issue also contains a full color advertisement on the back cover for Star Trek the Motion Picture!!
Issues #1-3 are based on the pilot episode of Galactica; Issue #5 is based on the two episode story from the TV series called "Lost Planet of the Gods" (Parts I and II); Issues #6 and #7 contain original stories written by Roger McKenzie and brought to comic life by Rich Buckler, Klaus Janson, Clem Robins, Bob Sharen, Jim Novak, and Carl Gafford.
The 2000 Overstreet price guide values these issues at around $4.00 each, so don't pass up this opportunity to collect a bit of TV history!!
