This year"s gala did not fail to disappoint. As is historically the case with this show, the gold and silver markets were erratic, posting one good day of gains and two poor days of major losses. Fortunately, the metals did little to sway the enthusiasm of the coin dealers. As has been the case for many previous shows, nice coins were getting "gobbled up" with a fervor. Coins that were lackluster in appearance and/or pricing sat idle. As has also been the recent case, the pre-show auctions continued to astonish all with their aggressive prices realized. Yes, the coin market is raging and with no end in sight. As you can imagine, buying in this environment is challenging to say the least.
