The book has a fancy burgundy leather cover. The cover photos were lightened to show detail. The book measures about 7-7/8" by 5-3/8" with 373 pages which includes an Index of Dietetics. On the inside back cover is an envelope which contains the color plates that illustrate Tokology. The plates have a cover page which has an explanation of the plates.

The book is in good condition with quite a lot of wear to the cover especially to the top edge of the spine leather which has small tears and is partially loose at the top of the spine. The inside front cover has a paragraph in pencil (see photo) which is not written in English. The next blank page has "December 1909, a happy Christmas and New Year" written in pencil. Lower corners on the first few pages have fold marks. The inside back cover has considerable black soiling over the whole surface of the facing blank page. Interior pages are in good condition with some age discoloration and a few extraneous marks. The color plates show use especially to the cover of the plates which has mostly separated from the booklet of plates.
