Copyright 1912, 1918. The book measures 7-3/4" by 5-1/4", 514 pages, 6 full-page black and white illustrations plus the colored frontispiece entitled "Catherine Douglas thrust her arm through the empty staples". This colored illustration illustrates "How Catherine Douglas Tried to Save King James of England". The preface informs us the stories are true stories; they include "Julius Caesar Crossing the Rubicon" and "The Remarkable Journey of the Bounty". Illustrations are by J. R. Skelton, Charles Sprague-Pierce, Gertrude Demain Hammond, William Rainey, Alec Ball, Frank Dicksee. The book is in excellent condition and seen very little use.
