This cloth could be a table covering -- but most likely it is a bed cloth or bedspread. It measures about 82" by 98". It has a scalloped edge on all sides of the cloth. The fabric looks like a fine cotton background; it has a yellow diamond design which could be rayon or even silk. The yellow is somewhat shiny and feels soft to the touch.

I date this cloth to the 1940"s, maybe even earlier. What do you think?

The cloth is in excellent condition with the following idiosyncracies or small flaws: a short brown line measuring 1/4" long; small brown spots on two scallops; five or six small areas of weakness which I spotted by holding the cloth to the light, and several loose threads in the diamonds including one area where the threads have pulled, making a thin spot in a diamond area.

Overall, this cloth is ready to use!
