Wells Fargo Express Co. Stage Station Salt Lake City Wax Seal,RARE brass stamp attached to an oak handle,used to seal the WF&CoExpress security envelopes that were transported on the stagecoaches and later on the railroad shipments. The wax seal was on each end of the back of the envelopes.Each stage station had there own wax stamps.These are getting to be very rare to find and does show a little handle wear.Some of these type stamps were also used with ink stampings.
