You are bidding on an original enameled WWII German DRK (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz)(German Red Cross) badge or pin in excellent condition and well marked. The brooch is about 1 1/4" in diameter and slightly vaulted (curved, convex). These badges were issued in 4 colors (Red, Black, Green and Blue)(I assume each color designated a certain rank) for nurses, nurses-helpers, probationary nurses and nursing students. This one is for a Nurse.
The front is all enameled and shows the DRK eagle, swastika and red cross against a white circular background. Around the outside, against a green background, it states: Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, Schwesternschaft (German Red Cross - Nurse). The back has the original mounting pin. Near the top, it has, in raised letters, the manufacturer's initials within a diamond, PuC; at the bottom, it has the nurse's identification number,5314.
I have been selling on Ebay for about 13 years. After having some so-called "offensive items" continually removed, I finally decided to sell all my WWII offerings on Epier.
