Infrared LED Light Therapy Healing Device
Infrared LED Light Therapy Healing Device
The fact that you're here means you already know about NASA's research concerning the healing and tissue regeneration effects of NIR, or Near InfraRed; so I won't bore you by reiterating it. You have also very likely researched the other available devices, and know what you're looking for. This device uses (42) 5mm Infrared LEDs at a wavelength of 940nm: the most highly penetrating Near InfraRed diodes available. It has been designed to use a 9 Volt battery (included and installed), to increase the time between battery changes. I have been using one of these units for over two years, and have not had to change the battery yet. Of course, your mileage will vary depending on how frequently you use the device.
So how do you know when to change the battery? After all, the human eye cannot see Near InfraRed. Fortunately, any standard camcorder can "see" Near InfraRed; so just hold the device in front of your camcorder, and turn it on. You'll be surprised to see the LEDs glowing brightly on the camcorder's viewscreen, even though your eyes see nothing. Try this when you first receive the device, so you know what it looks like when a brand new 9 Volt is installed. Check it every 6 months to see if it has dimmed appreciably. My two kids regularly get skinned knees, minor scrapes and cuts, bruises, etc. (young boys play hard!), so mine gets used a LOT; and after 2 years, it's still glowing brightly on the original 9 Volt battery.
The device uses a push-button "on/off" switch; meaning that you click it, and it stays on until you click it again, and then it stays off. When the red button is "up", the unit is off. When the red button is "down", the unit is on. Knowing this keeps you from having to grab the camcorder every time you want to know if the LEDs are on or off.
The unit is palm-sized, so it will fit easily in any purse, coat pocket, laptop case, briefcase, etc.: very convenient.
