PARTICULARS: Pictured upfront are young college age campaigners holding their Kennedy Placards at a May Rally outside the Portland, Oregon Kennedy Campaign Headquarters. An African American Woman is seen emerging from the background, peering out to capture center stage. Kennedy fought for Civil Rights as Attorney General his positive vision for the advancement of peace, justice, equality and responsibility is as relevant today. A personal favorite of the photographer... "May Rally" illustrates the wider political spectrum Kennedy helped to bring forth during these turbulent times.
PHOTOGRAPHER""S STATEMENT: The type of camera I used for all of the Kennedy photographs was a Nikon F Series with Nikkor Lenses. The photograph was taken with an 28mm f/3.5 Nikkor, a personal favorite for available light documentary photography. Exposures were made on Kodak Tri-X B&W film. The original transparencies and negatives have been kept in dark storage and are in pristine condition for their vintage.
