FINE ART ARCHIVAL PRINT. This Wide-Field Panoramic Landscape captures a northerly vista of the dramatic basaltic High Cascades Plateau lava flows found near the Dee Wright Observatory within the Belknap Crater Region. Print dimensions are @22x9 inches on a sheet of 24x14 inch HP Premium Satin Archival Paper and printed on our new HP Z3100 Wide Format 12 ink printer with Vivera Archival Pigment inks. This is a composite photograph made from seven original Nikon RAW captures and then stitched together using our PTgui software. It is part of a new series of manipulated color photographs where black and white and color elements are combined for an intended minimalist effect.

"DRENCHED IN FOG" is hand signed and dated on the white border beneath the image. This is a 250 year Museum Grade Archival Fine Art Print which will not fade under room lighting display conditions. Print is imbued with a wide range color gamut capturing the atmosphere and dramatic scale of this recent 1,500 year old lava flow.

PHOTOGRAPHER""S STATEMENT: The photograph was taken June 29, 2007 inside the Belknap Crater region. A telephoto Nikkor lens was employed to capture the 32x10 degree sweep, atmosphere and stark contrast of the rough, jagged "clinkery" surface of the basaltic lava flows. The panorama was made facing intermittent 20 mph wind gusts and drizzle, both a technical challenge. Note the wild flowers shown far left. We were particularly entranced with the atmospheric effects of the inclement weather. The violence and huge scale of the basaltic flow is shown to impressive effect by the use of panoramic technique. This is a composite image made from seven separate RAW captures and then stitched flawlessly together utilizing our PTgui software. Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CS3 were employed in the making of this beautiful print on our HP DESIGNJET Z3100 12 Ink Archival Printer. The panorama was achieved with an 85mm Nikkor lens in conjunction with making successive multiple exposures preserving the undistorted perspective in a natural wide-field panorama.
