"FLOWERS ON HARO STREET" features an intimate wide-field view of flowers and fire hydrant on Haro Street near the Buchan Hotel. This was taken in the early evening within minutes of sunset allowing for an intense luminosity and color palette. I was particularly struck by the fragility of the scene as the saturation of bold colors quickly faded into dusk. The lack of light led to shallow focus and an impressionist technique where the background (fire hydrant) took on a dreamy quality. Also, just to complicate the matter this is a composite panorama made from five separate horizontal photographs and then stitched together using my panoramic tools software. The sum effect retained the lush saturated mauvish colors that literally jump out in a celebratory rendering not possible with a single exposure. Hope you enjoy it!
