This is a vintage pair of lamps.  Figurines are made of ceramic/porcelain and are male and female colonial or English royalty somewhat resembling George & Martha Washington. 

 Figurines are hand painted with gold trim.  The male is holding a hat.  Mounted on a bronze or brass base with a metal rod leading up to the light socket.  Each is topped with an elegant floral brocaid shade which appear to be original. 

Each figurine measures nearly 11" tall.  The lamps overall each measure 23 1/2" tall.  The cords are intact and the lamps appear to be working. 

There are no markings on the base.  The woman figurine was removed from the base and is bottom marked "MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN".  This dates them to 1946-51.   These lamps are in near mint condition with no visible damage of any kind.
