The title page says "Illustrated by 228 Original Drawings by Beard, Rungius, Sawyer, and others, 120 Photographs, chiefly by Sanborn, Keller and Underwood and Numerous Charts and Maps". The List of Illustrations takes almost four pages. There is quite a number of full-page photographs and drawing. The dark red cloth cover is lovely and is darker than the photo shows. The front cover has beautiful raised animals. The book measures about 9-1/2" by 7-1/8" with 438 pages plus an Index. The book is in great condition with some wear to the cover.
