There is a long introduction about Erckmann and Chatrian by Richard Burton. "Brigadier Frederick" is much longer than "The Dean"s Watch".Copyright 1902. One hunred years ago. The book measures about 8-1/4" by 5-1/2" with 278 pages. The pictures of Erckmann and Chatrian are engravings. The book is in good condition; some of the spine webbing is visible in the front of the book and the cloth cover has considerable soil. This book is part of "The French Classical Romances."
