Description

"The Illustrated WORLD HISTORY". "A Record of World Events from Earliest Historical Times to the Present Day". Edited by Sir John Hammerton and Dr. Harry Elmer Barnes.
Published by Wm H. Wise & Co. The title page is dated "MCMXXXIX" which I read as 1939. The copyright page shows copyrights 1935, 1937, 1938.
This is a lovely book with a dark cover that looks like it may be leather. It is textured like leather and the spine has a lovely gold gilt pattern.
The book is heavy, measuring about 8-5/8" by 5-3/4" with 1159 pages which includes an Index in the back.
The book is in very good condition with very little wear to the cover.
