This lovely volume has a beautiful binding in leather and cloth. It measures about 8" by 5-1/2" with 355 pages. Chapters include "How Civilization Came to Japan", "The Opening of Japan", "The Invasion of the Tartar Steppes", "The Palace of Kublai Khan", "The Rise of the Manchus" and "The Battle of the Iron-Clads".

There are approximately 18 black and white illustrations. The book is in very good condition with slight wear.
