The book has lots of wonderfully detailed illustrations; they look like wood engravings to me. The book has a neat dark green cloth cover with beautiful gold decoration. The book measures about 10-1/4" by 7-1/8" with 830 pages. The book is in good condition with wear to the cover, particularly to the spine top and bottom. The binding is loose and the paper has separated on the inside front cover so some of the spine netting shows (see photo). There is some soiling on the inside front cover..
