
What is this tool? See Square Nail Holes. Found in Colorado Rockies near abandoned lead smelter. In the same area, I also found a number of the square nails that would fit in these holes. The nails are 2-4 inches long.
Following is what one person has already answered as to what this is:
"You have a nice shoe as in "horse shoe".... but for a cloven hoofed
animal... cattle/oxen. They also needed protection for their hoofs when
traveling long distances and pulling very heavy loads. I have a few of
them, you have a nice one - it has a more extreem, unusual shape than I
have seen."
