My understanding is that the U.S. Design mark means this pattern was designed for the U.S. market.

This pieces are pristine white with delicate roses and have a turquoise border pattern with platinum trim. The cups measure 3-7/8" in diameter and about 2-1/4" high.

Please see the photo of the backstamp with the turquoise wreath and the "N" inside and "Noritake, Japan, 6102, FAIRMONT, U.S. Design Pat. 194925". This is an old mark, dating from the late 1940"s, early 1950"s.

The cup and four saucers are in excellent condition with virtually no wear marks; the platinum trim is excellent, not perfect but excellent.
