Getting Back to Basics

For so many of us, the daily grind makes us sometimes forget our key business values.   Do you know where the largest marketplace is?   It is not on any web site.    It is right where you are sitting, the planet earth.    For centuries merchants have sold in an open marketplace and had to work at it.   No web site can replace good old fashion value "work for a living".   We have all seen recent ads "Quit your job and make $100,000 online."   A web site can give you the false impression that they will make you $100,000s perhaps because they have more traffic.   However, consider that more traffic means more competitors, which tends to drive item prices down.   More traffic also means having to pay more to get your items seen.

To get your items seen you are spending extra money to feature on the home page, feature in the category, bold titling, etc.    Can you be spending this money better and more wisely?   All the while building your business and client base the old fashion way?   Be bold, work to grow your business.    Do not rely on any one or even a few web sites to bring you customers.    The key is to diversify, diversify, diversify; sell on several marketplaces.   Do not put all your eggs in a single basket.
