Up for auction is this water color painting "The Hermitage Foundation Museum" Reproduction in Full Color. Synopsis: Founded in 1937 by William Sloane and Florence K. Sloane, his wife, the Hemitage Foundation was chartered to operate a Fine Arts Museum, encourage the arts and crafts, and promote the study and understanding of Art. The Museum is contained in a country house whose architecture was inspired by the English Tudor Style, located in an extensive landscape park. The Museum is contains panelings and carvings, and a collection of Eastern and European Art. In the painting can be seen some of the hand-carved facings which decorate the building's many gables. In the foreground are stones collected from old grist mills, used as a devorative note in the courtyard. The size is approximately 12 by 15 inches. Copyright 1962, Baylor Pictures, Norfolk, Virginia.
